This Section deals with the following:


  1. Study of various sections in the organisation to suggest ways and means to achieve economy and efficiency in all areas of work as well as to monitor that rules and procedures are being followed in the working of the organisation.
  2. Preparation of Job Description Sheets (JDS) for nominated sections and for new areas of work, as well as updation of existing Job Description Sheets.
  3. Rationalization of methods of work and standardization of memos for repetitive items of work.
  4. Updation and revision of Office Manual Part XII of the Defence Accounts Department.
  5. Monitoring action taken on the complaints received in the office and the points raised by the CGDA Inspection teams.
  6. Examination of the suggestion received from various personnel under the "Suggestions Scheme" and after scrutiny by local suggestion committee to project the approved suggestions to CGDA for finalization.
  7. Collection and supply of data and other particulars required by SIU.
  8. The following areas of work are also dealt with:-
    • Introduction of level jumping.
    • Improvement in the filing system.
    • Introduction of sophisticated office machines.
    • Standardisation of office Notes of repetitive type.
    • Elimination of delay in disposals by introducing suitable steps.
    • Elimination of inter section forwarding memos and notes wherever possible.
    • Review of printed forms for improving the designs, reducing the size, combination /elimination of forms.
    • Re-organisation of office layout for quicker flow of work and diminution of avoidable movement of documents and records.
    • To study the organisational set up in order to remove bottlenecks, if any.
